We’ve all experienced a bad case of “fat fingers” from time to time. You type away at a common enough domain such as cnn.com yet somehow end up at a page filled with horrible ad links. Upon further inspection you realise that you’ve actually typed cnn.cm and with a shrug, make your way to the correct URL.
You might think this was a simple case of an industrious cyber squatter getting a hold of a single domain variant but it seems things run a little deeper than this. continue reading… »

Derek Powazek one of the founders of JPG magazine recently posted an article on his website detailing the resons for his recent departure from the publication. Derek and his wife Heather Champ started the magazine as a small labour of love and it quickly grew into something much larger. The reaction to Derek’s post has been quick and intense with a swell of support and sympathy all of which may well be deserved however there’s been virtually no response from the other party involved in the matter - Paul Cloutier ; save a brief post by his wife.

Back in October of 2004, Julie Amero, a substitute teacher in a Connecticut middle school found herself in a bit of a bother. Well, actually that’s all it should have been but it led to Amero facing a 40 year prison sentence and the case has highlighted the intense neo-luditism that continues to prevail in not only the US justice system but justice systems the world wide.

We’ve been using Joost.com around the office now for a while. The online video broadcasting app works well enough and the quality of the video is quite good. Overall it’s a really good user experience but it all comes down to content and that’s something that’s been lacking thus far.
